- Get 1 Pack raw king prawns
- Prepare 1/2 can Coconut milk
- Get 2 large Tomatos (not too ripe)
- Prepare 1/2 dozen Shallots
- Take 3 Cardamom pods

- Take 1 tbsp Olive oil

- Take 1 bunch Fresh coriander
Sprinkle the fresh coriander over the top, stir well and serve the korma immediately with a small portion of rice. Delicious juicy prawns in a coconut, garlic, chilli and ginger flavoured sauce - you really can't go wrong with this Easy Prawn Korma! Prawn korma is a cream, coconut milk or yoghurt based curry dish from India. Apparently, the korma has been served to royalty for many decades and made its way to court kitchens.
Steps to make King Prawn Korma:
- Make a paste by blending the ginger, garlic, chilli, turmeric and dried coriander. Marinate the prawns in the paste for about and hour in the fridge.
- Blend the onion into a paste, set aside. Heat the butter and olive oil in a pan, add the cinnamon, cloves and cardamom and simmer for 3 minutes being careful not to burn the butter.
- Add the onion purée to the pan, simmer for 3 minutes stirring all the time so as not to burn the onion.
- Add the chilli powder, stir. Add the Tomatos. Simmer for 5 minutes stirring frequently.
- Add the marinated prawns, cook stirring untill the prawns just turn pink.
- Add the fenugreek and fennel seed, stir.
- Add the count milk and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve and garnish with fresh coriander.
Heat the oil in a pan, add the prawns and fry lightly until they have all turned pink. Remove the prawns from the pan and set aside. Return the prawns to the pan and add the flaked almonds and chopped coriander. King Prawn Korma My take on a classic Korma from Lucknow in North easten India.
