- Make ready For Marinating Prawns:
- Get 500 gms Jumbo Prawns
- Prepare 1 tsp Salt
- Get 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Get 2 Juice of Lemons
- Prepare 1 tsp Pepper Powder
- Take 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- Get 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
- Prepare 2 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- Prepare For Cooking Prawns:
- Get 1/4 cup Cooking Oil
- Prepare For the Pickle:
- Make ready 1/4 cup Cooking Oil
- Make ready 6-8 tbsps Ginger (Finely Chopped)
- Prepare 6-8 tbsps Garlic (Finely Chopped)
- Take 20-25 Green Chillies (Finely Chopped)
- Prepare 1/4-1/2 cup Vinegar
- Take Masala Powders:
- Get 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Prepare 2tsps Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
- Get 2tsps Red Chilli Powder
- Make ready 2 tsps Mustard Seeds Powder
- Prepare 1 tsp Methi Powder
- Get 1 tsp Salt
Instructions to make Spicy Prawns Pickle:
- Peel and de-vein the prawns. Wash nicely. Keep in strainer for the excess water to drain. Marinate the prawns with lemon juice, salt, turmeric powder and ginger-garlic paste for about 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, to the marinated prawns, add kashmiri red chilli powder, pepper powder and garam masala powder and keep it marinated for few hours or overnight.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add little red chilli powder to the prawns and fry on low flame until cooked. Remove from heat and set aside.
- For making the pickle, keep all the ingredients ready.
- Heat oil in a saucepan. Add in the finely chopped green chillies, garlic and ginger and saute on medium flame until the garlic and ginger are nicely roasted.
- Add in the masala powders and salt and fry for a minute. Add it to the cooked prawns.
- Add the vinegar and simmer for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, the mixture would become slightly dry and the oil would start to float out completely. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool for an hour.
- Transfer the Spicy Prawns Pickle to a sterilized container. You can store it in refrigerator for upto a month.
