Instructions to make Kanava Fry / Squid Fry:
  1. Take the squid in a bowl and add all ingredients under 'To marinate'. Mix really well and keep aside for 30 mins.
  2. Heat a frying pan and tip the marinated squid in. Saute in medium flame for 3-4 minutes, the squid will release some water as it cooks. Once the water starts to reduce, pour in the coconut oil and stir well in medium-high flame, making sure the squid doesn't burn and stick to the pan.
  3. Keep sauteeing in low flame till all the water evaporates and the squid is coated well in the masala.
  4. Serve with hot rice or chapathi's.
