- Get 2 pkg imitation crab meat, shredded
- Make ready 2 tbs Japanese Mayonnaise (plus some for drizzling)
- Prepare 2 tsp sriracha (or more if you want it spicier)
- Make ready To taste Furikake
- Take 2.5 cups sushi rice, cooked
- Make ready As needed Nori (for serving)
Baked Sushi has been a trend lately so I thought of making one. My husband loves sushi and I know for sure he will love it. California Roll is the most common and basic sushi roll so it is great to use it for this recipe. The good thing about this Baked Sushi is that there is really no need to roll them which is a bit challenging for newbies.
Steps to make Sushi Bake:
- Mix your shredded "crab meat" with Japanese mayo and Sriracha and set aside
- Lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick spray. Press the the sushi rice firmly into the baking dish using your hands. (Lightly spray your hands to prevent rice to sticking to your hands)
- Shake desired amount of Furikake on top of the rice.
- Spread your crab meat evenly ontop of the rice, pressing down with the back of your spoon.
- Sprinkle more furikake on top of the crab meat mixture.
- Place in a 350⁰F oven for 10min
- Once out of oven drizzle with sriracha and more Japanese mayo.
- Serve immediately with nori.
Sushi Bake is a layered sushi. It is way far from the traditional sushi cuisine but it is so good that everyone can enjoy this dish. It is perfect to roll up with nori seaweed and eat. Sushi bake may sound so new and exciting, but apparently, it's been around for years now—well, at least the concept of serving it as a casserole, that is.
